Questions about induction

We already induct our contracting companies. What does this change?

The induction itself is not the thing that changes — what changes is whether it can be enforced and evidenced. A pathway that will not accept a half-finished application removes the chasing, and a sign-off recorded against a named person on a date is the difference between believing somebody was inducted and being able to show it. If your current process already does both, you may not need us, and we will say so.

Does the worker fill this in themselves?

Usually not. In most operations the employer admin drives the whole application on the worker's behalf, which is faster and produces cleaner records. The worker's own guaranteed step comes later, at e-learning, where they have to complete the training themselves.

What happens if the approver is on leave?

You nominate a backup approver. It is a permission rather than a separate login or a shared password, so the approval is still attributed to whoever actually gave it.

Can we reject part of an application without starting again?

Yes. Reject with a reason and it goes back to be corrected and resubmitted, rather than the whole application being discarded.

We run a general induction plus role-specific ones. Does that work?

Yes — that is what multi-stage inductions are for. Role-specific inductions hang off a short general induction, and details entered in the first carry forward so nothing is entered twice.
